One Year Ago

Boy, has time flown by. I still can’t believe that it has been a whole year since we stood in front of our closest friends and family to say our vows, and to pledge our commitment to one another. I can’t begin to describe how good it feels to call him my husband. I love you, babe!

I know that the first anniversary present is traditionally paper, but I decided to go canvas instead. I found Melissa of MissysPortraits on Etsy a few months ago and sent her this photo captured by Jagger Photography on our wedding day. It was the perfect frame that captured us camera shy folks while including our other love, Ollie, of course!

Here’s the beyond amazing version painted by Melissa. I LOVE all the details she captured!

Paris Here I Come *

* In a few years, that is…

The hubby and I often dream of our time in Paris on our honeymoon: our long walks, admiring the architecture and munching on the best cheeses and desserts of our lives. We talk constantly of going back. I may or may not bring it up every other day.

Here’s a shot hubby took on one of our daily walks. Romantic, no?

On the Past

Anyone else having one of those weeks where all you want to do is drop everything and get away? It’s been a long week.

I was going through our honeymoon photos from our backpacking adventure in Europe and will slowly share them with ya’ll.

First up, here’s Cassis, France. I loved this little town on the Mediterranean. We went for a boat ride around the calanques, and thanks to a last minute trip to the market for crackers, no sea sickness for me!

Happy Anniversary!

No folks, it’s not our wedding anniversary yet, but today is an important day. One year ago, we walked into the Pasadena Humane Society just to “browse” the dogs. An hour later, we wound up on the sidewalk trying to convince an uncooperative Oliver (aka Ollie) that getting into our car would be a good idea. He clung onto the cement like his life depended on it! The poor little guy was found living on the streets before getting taken to the shelter.

Here we are a year later, just one big happy family. The celebration includes a hike with Ollie’s human-parents and grandparents, lots of meat courtesy of grandma, his bordatella and rabies shots (sorry, kiddo, but it’s for your own good), a donation to Pas Humane Society to help his fellow dog friends find a home, a doggie cookie and snuggle time. Aren’t you one lucky doggy?

And I leave you with a shot from our wedding with Mr. Oliver himself. If you’re considering including your pet on the big day, do it!!

Paper Cut Industries!

I’m a firm believer in growth; I don’t believe in being stagnant, because there’s always room to learn more about what I do. So to make myself a more rounded and knowledgeable wedding DOC, I applied to Monica at Paper Cut Industries. First off, Monica is the nicest person ever, and her design skills are versatile and gorgeous! This girl knows her stuff! Secondly, I’m one lucky girl, because you’re looking at the newest Production Intern for Paper Cut!

And for all you Southbay wedding vendors out there sick and tired of conducting meetings at Starbucks and the like, consider the amazing space at Studio 404 Weddings! It’s cute, inviting and spotless!
